Vienna, 2021-02-15 – The construction cost index (new base 2020) for construction of residential buildings reached 102.9 index points in January 2021, according to calculations by Statistics Austria. This represents an increase of 3.4% against January 2020. Compared to December 2020, the index increased by 2.0%.

The index for road construction reached 101.2 index points (+0.9% in annual comparison), the index for bridge construction increased to 104.0 points (+3.7% compared to January 2021), and the index for sanitary engineering stood at 101.8 points (+1.7% in annual comparison).
