Vienna, 2021-11-15 – The construction cost index (new base 2020) for construction of residential buildings reached 113.9 index points in October 2021, according to calculations by Statistics Austria. This represents an increase of 13.4% against October 2020. Compared to September 2021, the index decreased by 0.3%.

The index for road construction reached 111.9 index points (+12.0% in annual comparison), the index for bridge construction increased to 118.9 points (+18.8% compared to October 2020), and the index for sanitary engineering stood at 110.9 points (+10.5% in annual comparison).
